Order Management - Solution Architect

As a Solution Architect for Order Management & Processing, you will own the end-to-end architecture strategy for the domain, shaping its evolution from legacy systems to a scalable, resilient, and event-driven microservices architecture.

You will define architectural standards, guide engineering teams, and ensure the platform supports high-volume, multi-channel order flows with reliability, performance, and flexibility.

This is a domain-level architecture role you will provide technical direction, governance, and design leadership, without owning day-to-day development.

You will: 
 

• Define and drive the architecture roadmap for the Order Management & Processing domain, ensuring alignment with business growth, scalability, and international expansion.
• Lead the transformation from monolithic systems to a resilient, event-driven microservices architecture, establishing standards for DDD, API-first design, containerization, and integration patterns.
• Own the end-to-end architecture for order lifecycle processes, including order capture, orchestration, payments, inventory, fulfillment, returns, and post-order operations.
• Design high-performance, fault-tolerant systems and integration frameworks that support large-scale, multi-channel order processing while ensuring data consistency, reliability, and observability.
• Provide technical leadership, architectural governance, and mentorship to engineering teams, while evaluating and adopting new technologies to enhance scalability, efficiency, and developer productivity.

You have:

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including 3–5+ years as a Domain Architect or Solution Architect, preferably in Order Management, eCommerce, or other high-scale transactional environments.
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture, distributed systems, event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ), API design (OpenAPI), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CQRS/Saga patterns.
• Proven experience in decomposing monolithic applications into scalable microservices architectures and driving large-scale modernization initiatives.
• Solid understanding of the end-to-end order lifecycle, including order processing, payments, inventory management, fulfillment, returns, and post-order operations, with hands-on experience using Order Management Systems (OMS).
• Experience designing and supporting high-availability, high-performance systems, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, observability, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on technical experience with PHP (Symfony/Laravel) and/or Node.js, MySQL/NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, messaging platforms, and cloud environments such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong knowledge of data consistency models, distributed transactions, event streaming, and system reliability patterns, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience mentoring engineering teams, governing architecture standards, and collaborating effectively across cross-functional and Agile environments.
