Wat ze zoeken
We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of engineering infrastructure and who combines software engineering with pragmatic systems administration.
You have:
Strong Linux administration skills; most of our infrastructure runs on Ubuntu.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and build pipelines. Experience with GitHub Actions is a plus.
Experience operating self-hosted build infrastructure or comparable developer tooling.
Solid scripting and automation skills, for example in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
Experience with package registries, artefact repositories, or dependency management.
An understanding of software supply-chain security concepts such as SBOMs, CVEs, and dependency scanning.
Enough software-engineering background to understand the problems faced by the developers using the platform.
A proactive mindset: you investigate problems, coordinate with the people involved and follow through until they are resolved.
Good spoken and written English. Dutch is a plus.
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is useful, but equivalent practical experience is just as valuable.
➕ Nice to haves
C++ and/or ROS, or other embedded and robotics build environments.
Docker and virtualisation platforms such as Proxmox.
Software composition analysis and vulnerability-management tooling.
Software compliance and security frameworks such as the CRA, NIS2 or ISO 27001.
GitHub, Jira and Confluence administration or automation.
Meet most of the core requirements but not every one? We'd still like to hear from you.

Platform Engineer
Location: Eindhoven (Strijp-T) | Hours: 40 hours per week | Employment type: Direct employment
We're looking for a Platform Engineer to join the Avular Team!
At Avular, we are looking for a hands-on and pragmatic Platform Engineer to strengthen our software organisation. Here you will own the "software factory" behind our robots: the CI/CD pipelines, self-hosted build runners, package registries and supply-chain tooling that our ~30 software engineers rely on every day. In this role, you will keep our builds green, our releases reproducible, and our dependencies secure. You'll be the person who makes sure our engineers can ship robotics software quickly, reliably, and safely.
🚀 YOUR MISSION
You own the path from a developer's commit to a reproducible and traceable software artefact.
That means both building and improving the platform, and taking operational ownership of it. When a nightly build starts failing, runners become unreliable, or an important pull request gets stuck, you don't wait for somebody else to raise a ticket: you investigate, find the right owner and follow the issue through to resolution.
You will:
Own and maintain our CI/CD infrastructure and self-hosted build runners.
Monitor the health of pipelines, runners and nightly builds, and proactively follow up on failures.
Make bottlenecks such as long-running or stale pull requests visible and help teams get them resolved.
Improve build reliability, performance and reproducibility.
Set up, operate, and maintain internal developer services such as package registries and artefact repositories.
Build out our software supply-chain tooling, including SBOM generation and management, dependency scanning, and CVE monitoring.
Ensure that software releases and their dependencies remain traceable.
Automate repetitive operational work and eliminate recurring sources of failure.
Maintain the Linux infrastructure on which these services run, including upgrades, backups and
monitoring.
Define sensible metrics for the health of our software factory and continuously improve it.
Document what you build and make sure the development organisation can rely on it.
You won't be responsible for fixing every broken build, vulnerable dependency or stale pull request yourself. You are responsible for making sure problems become visible, get an owner and don't silently remain unresolved.
