Are you passionate about education? Would you be excited to share your Computer Science knowledge with the next generation? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
Job description
The departments associated with Computer Science at TU Delft are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to fill the position of University Teacher. As University Teacher, you will be responsible for (co-)teaching high-quality instructions in both the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) BSc program and potentially the new Health and Technology BSc Program in collaboration with Erasmus University Rotterdam. Additionally, you will contribute to the overall educational environment.
We are looking for an additional full-time team member to our CSE Teaching Team who shares our desire to teach and improve education. Since its inception in 2018, the Teaching Team had a significant impact on the quality of education in the CSE BSc program, successfully teaching and guiding hundreds of students. More information about our team can be found here.
The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) BSc program
The Computer Science and Engineering BSc program is a comprehensive and accredited 3-year computer science program with a yearly intake of approximately 550 students and a total student population of around 1600 students. The program is taught in English, and we have a diverse and international student population. Our program balances theoretical computer science courses with practically oriented courses in which theory is applied. The students have two capstone projects, one where they typically do an industry internship, and one where they dive into a research assignment.
The Health and Technology BSc program
The Bachelor Health & Technology is a newly accredited BSc program that will start in September 2027. The program is taught fully at the Erasmus University campus in Rotterdam but is provided by the TU Delft. The program focusses on educating a new type of engineer who will be capable of tackling wicked problems in the health domain, by forming a bridge between medical professionals and engineers. An example of such a problem is the aging of the population. The Computer Science Teaching Team will (co-)teach at least two courses in this new bachelor program: a first-year course on programming where students learn about Python and AI tooling, and a second-year course on data visualisation. As the program is taught in Dutch, a work division will be made between the programs in Delft and Rotterdam, based on the capabilities and capacity of the candidate and the other members of the teaching team.
What will you do as a University Teacher?
You will (co-)teach courses from our CS-related programs. This includes preparing and delivering lectures, designing and/or improving course materials, organizing practical sessions, leading discussions, assessing student performance, and providing constructive feedback. All our courses are taught by a pair/team of lecturers, thus good cooperation skills are essential. You will work within a team of lecturers who are all passionate about education. You will get a lot of freedom to work on the things you enjoy, but you can also benefit from the guidance and experience of your team members. You will also be able to engage in education innovation. In addition, you will recruit and lead teams of teaching assistants.
Job requirements
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about teaching and education. We are committed to help you develop your teaching competencies further.

Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) brings together three scientific disciplines. Combined, they reinforce each other and are the driving force behind the technology we all use in our daily lives. Technology such as the electricity grid, which our faculty is helping to make completely sustainable and future-proof. At the same time, we are developing the chips and sensors of the future, whilst also setting the foundations for the software technologies to run on this new generation of equipment – which of course includes AI. Meanwhile we are pushing the limits of applied mathematics, for example mapping out disease processes using single cell data, and using mathematics to simulate gigantic ash plumes after a volcanic eruption. In other words: there is plenty of room at the faculty for ground-breaking research. We educate innovative engineers and have excellent labs and facilities that underline our strong international position. In total, more than 1000 employees and 4,000 students work and study in this innovative environment.
