Medical Engagement Lead Established Products - Netherlands

Position Overview
The Medical Engagement Lead Established Products is responsible for driving medical strategy and engagement activities across the cardiovascular risk management (CVRM) and established product portfolios, with primary focus on the Netherlands.
This role serves as the key medical interface between Sanofi and healthcare professionals, ensuring scientific excellence and compliance in all medical affairs activities. The successful candidate will combine deep scientific expertise in cardiovascular medicine with strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, including leading clinical engagement initiatives such as care pathway optimization and hospital network engagement.
Working alongside a cross-functional team, the Medical Engagement Lead provides the clinical leadership and medical credibility that underpins Sanofi's hospital partnerships and scientific impact in the Netherlands.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Strategy & Execution
• Develop and implement medical engagement strategies for cardiovascular care and established products in alignment with global and regional medical plans
• Provide scientific and medical expertise to support product lifecycle management across the Netherlands
• Lead clinical engagement initiatives in the cardiovascular risk management therapeutic area, including care pathway optimization and hospital network engagement
• Lead medical education initiatives and scientific communication activities
• Ensure medical input into brand strategy and commercial activities while maintaining appropriate separation
• Monitor the therapeutic area landscape and proactively identify opportunities to strengthen Sanofi's medical positioning
Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and medical institutions across the Netherlands
• Build partnerships with teaching hospitals and healthcare institutions
• Organize and participate in advisory boards, scientific meetings, and medical education events
• Respond to medical information requests with accurate, balanced, and evidence-based information
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including the Population Health Specialist, commercial/CES, market access, regulatory, and patient advocacy groups
• Represent Sanofi at national and international medical congresses and scientific forums
Scientific Excellence & Compliance
• Ensure all medical activities comply with local regulations, industry codes (CGR/EFPIA), and Sanofi's internal policies and standards
• Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials from a medical and scientific perspective
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the CVRM therapeutic area, competitive landscape, and emerging scientific evidence
• Support pharmacovigilance activities and ensure timely adverse event reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Champion a culture of integrity and ethical conduct in all medical interactions
Data Generation & Evidence Development
• Identify medical evidence gaps and contribute to the development of real-world evidence (RWE) studies
• Apply epidemiological expertise to strengthen the design, interpretation, and communication of real-world evidence
• Support investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and collaborate with clinical development teams
• Analyze and communicate clinical trial data and real-world evidence to internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to medical publications, congress presentations, and scientific communications
• Collaborate with HEOR and market access teams on outcomes research initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with regional and global medical teams to ensure strategic alignment and knowledge sharing across North Europe
• Provide medical training and scientific support to commercial teams
• Collaborate with market access teams on health economics and outcomes research initiatives
• Support patient engagement and patient advocacy initiatives in alignment with Sanofi's patient-centric approach
• Contribute to integrated brand planning processes as the medical affairs representative
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Advanced degree in Medicine (MD), Pharmacy (PharmD), or Life Sciences (PhD) required
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in medical affairs, clinical development, or a related healthcare field
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or clinical practice strongly preferred
• Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and medical strategy execution
• Experience in cardiovascular therapeutic area is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with the Dutch healthcare system, key institutions, and regulatory environment is a strong advantage
• Experience with real-world evidence (RWE) generation or an epidemiology background is highly desirable
Skills & Competencies
• Strong scientific and clinical knowledge with the ability to critically evaluate medical literature
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Dutch and English (written and verbal)
• Deep understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, compliance requirements, and industry codes (including CGR/EFPIA)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a matrix organization alongside commercial and population health colleagues
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a hospital network
• Strategic thinking with the ability to translate medical insights into actionable care pathway improvements
• Skilled in KOL identification, mapping, and segmentation to prioritize engagement efforts effectively
• Proficiency in digital tools, CRM platforms, and medical technology solutions

The salary range for this position is :€74 000,00 - €98 000Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
