Risk Specialist

Fastned exists because twelve years ago, driving an electric car across Europe meant planning your route around whether you would make it. We have spent since 2012 building the answer: a fast-charging network you can actually rely on, running entirely on solar and wind. More than 400 stations across nine countries now, on our way to 1,000 by 2030. Every one of them is a bet that clean energy wins on the commercial case as well as the moral one, and so far the bet is paying off. Building that network takes more than construction. It takes the teams behind it, and those teams are being built right now, which means you would have a hand in deciding how the work gets done rather than stepping into something already settled.

Fastned is building hundreds of charging stations across nine countries, on land it leases, through contractors it does not employ, serving customers who pay at a screen by the roadside. Every one of those choices carries risk, and right now two people cover all of it. As Risk Specialist you will build the framework that keeps that manageable, lead our work on fraud, and sit in front of the Managing and Supervisory Board to say what we should be worried about. This is a role for someone who thinks risk management should make a company faster, not slower.

As Risk Specialist, you help Fastned strengthen its risk and control framework while enabling the business to grow responsibly and at speed. You combine a structured, analytical approach with pragmatism: making risk management practical, accessible, and proportionate to the challenges of a fast-growing organisation.

You will work across all stakeholders in the organisation: from Operations and Construction to Product & Engineering, and business functions such as Finance and Legal & Compliance. By partnering closely with teams throughout the company, you help protect revenue, support scalable and compliant growth, and embed a culture in which risks and controls are understood and owned across the business.
