What they look for

  • You have a MSc in science in (applied) physics, quantum technologies, material science, or a related field.
  • You are highly motivated to work on the nano fabrication and characterization of quantum devices for quantum networks.
  • Relevant experience in device fabrication, nanophotonics and/or experimental quantum physics (e.g. with spins or superconducting systems) are appreciated but not essential.

Job description

We are recruiting several PhD candidates to join the Taminiau lab in research on quantum networks based on spin defects in silicon carbide (SiC). As a part of the team, you will work alongside scientists to investigate and develop SiC devices that enable fast optical entanglement links and high-fidelity spin-qubit control. The research combines the design and fabrication of nano-photonic SiC devices, with quantum optics experiments to demonstrate small, but scalable, quantum networks for distributed quantum computation, simulations, and communication.

The Taminiau Lab is an international and collaborative group where people from different backgrounds work closely together, share ideas openly, and support each other's development. We value diversity, teamwork, and creating an environment where everyone can contribute and grow.

TU Delft (Delft University of Technology)
