Introduction

The IT & Data department at ASML enables secure, reliable, and compliant technology solutions that support the business worldwide. Within this department, you will join the COCKPIT program, a team responsible for strengthening and deploying an integrated IT control framework across the organization. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale transformation that connects IT risk management, cyber security, and compliance. Rather than working on theoretical assessments, you will help improve controls that support secure and effective IT operations. If you are interested in technology, risk, and cyber security, this is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a global high-tech environment.

Your assignment

In this role, you will support the implementation and continuous improvement of the integrated IT control framework. You will work closely with stakeholders across IT, risk, assurance, and cyber security to understand how risks are translated into controls and how organizations demonstrate compliance and security. You will contribute to a real transformation program while developing practical knowledge of IT controls, risk management, and cyber security. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Collaborate with IT teams, risk specialists, assurance teams, cyber security professionals, and other stakeholders across the organization.
  • Support the analysis, documentation, and implementation of IT and cyber security controls.
  • Assist with control testing activities, evidence collection, and control assessments.
  • Analyze control gaps, findings, and recurring issues and help identify practical improvements.
  • Map risks, policies, standards, and regulatory requirements to measurable controls.
  • Contribute to reporting and dashboards that support insight and decision-making.
  • Explore opportunities to simplify, improve, or automate controls and monitoring activities.

This is a master's internship for minimum 6 months, minimum 4 days per week (3 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.

To be suitable for the internship, you

  • Are pursuing a master's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Cyber Security, Accountancy, Auditing, Risk Management, Business Information Management, or a related field.
  • Have an interest in IT audit and assurance, cyber security, IT controls, risk management, or compliance.
  • Enjoy working with different stakeholders and building effective working relationships.
  • Are collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Have strong analytical skills and can translate information into clear conclusions.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Knowledge of frameworks or standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, SOx, or NIS2 is considered an advantage but is not required.

What you'll gain

During this internship, you will gain practical experience with IT auditing, cyber security controls, compliance processes, and risk management in a large-scale technology environment. You will learn how organizations design, implement, test, monitor, and improve control frameworks while balancing business objectives and security requirements. You will work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to a broad range of stakeholders across IT and business functions. This experience provides a strong foundation for future careers in IT Audit, Technology Risk, Cyber Security, Risk & Compliance, or Internal Controls.

Questions about IT & infrastructure starter jobs

How many IT & infrastructure starter jobs are open right now?

10 at the moment, every one from an employer on the IND Public Register of Recognised Sponsors. A job leaves this page when the employer takes the posting down.

Can these employers sponsor my visa?

Being on the register means an employer is allowed to sponsor a highly skilled migrant visa. Whether it does for a specific role is the employer's decision.

What salary do I need for a highly skilled migrant visa in 2026?

From 1 January 2026 the IND requires a gross monthly salary of €5,942 if you are 30 or older, €4,357 if you are under 30, and €3,122 for recent graduates of Dutch universities and orientation-year holders. Holiday allowance is not counted in these amounts.

Is there a lower salary threshold for graduates?

Yes. Graduates of a Dutch university, and people on an orientation year permit, qualify for the reduced criterion of €3,122 gross per month in 2026 when they start within three years of graduating.
